As long as I can remember, I have been passionately interested in art.
I grew up in Stewarts Draft, Virginia, a small but beautiful town. I was able to enjoy the many historical sites in Virginia and nearby cities such as Washington, D.C. and Philadelphia, PA. I grew up to love and especially appreciate the many works of romantic and Renaissance art.
My artistic talent was recognized and nourished during my junior and senior years of high school. The Farmington Country Club regularly displayed my collection of sculptures, paintings, and drawings. The response in Charlottesville, Virginia was so great that I was sent to the Holden School of the Arts in Charlottesville under the tutelage of the noted Charles Bishop. In 1977, I received a Bachelor’s Degree of Fine Art.
Since moving to the State of Washington, I have fine-tuned my skills in all aspects of sculpture and stone carving. I was the recipient of a Pathway Scholarship and the Seattle Urban League’s James Washington Honorable Mention Award.
